SPO stands for Student Police Organization. In an attepmt to strengthen the trust and relationship between police officers and the citizens they protect,
schools have collaborated with the police force to enlist students to be the "police" of their schools.
How It Works
Students will act as the police in their schools and stop any "crimes" they have seen committed in their school (Bullying, cheating on tests, etc.). Officers will stop by
weekly to check their progress and make sure the student police are addressing these issues properly. However, normal officers will also communicate with teachers and
administrators at the school to make sure that student police don't abuse their power. This way, police officers can learn from their mentees and see how to properly
handle situations. Meanwhile, student police can see reality from a normal officers point of view. This way, students and officers can understand one another to help create
a stronger relationship in society.

Block parties, what for??
The police will reach out to the community to discuss areas of concern and prioritize ways to resolve these issues. By doing this the police create a smooth transition through a meet n greet with the people within the community that they service via outlets such as block associations. By meeting and greeting the people it will include barbeque, games, live music, face painting for children and things that will bring joy to the community and reduce their fear of the law enforcement , upon doing such the people will become aware that periodic patrolling will be done by, to ensure the protection of the community members in the neighborhood. This kind of work will permit people to begin to see law enforcement in a different light, in addition after this appointment in a 2 month span I will reconvene , another meet n greet for any questions and concerns ; so that a future cohesive working relationship could begin to be consistent within the community. There further down the line we can get people based upon their record, to create a neighborhood watch community.
